Previous Projects and Therapeutic Work

  • Creative Connections – A two week exhibition held at Gallery 6 in December 2025, planned and presented by members of our longstanding art therapy group based at our local social action centre, The Rainbow Centre.
  • Postcode Neighbourhood Trust – 1 to 1 individual therapy for those who were referred or self referred
  • #ArtTalking-YouthFunded by the Woodsmith Foundation – We were proud to be able to offer a fully funded intervention to help Children and Young People who were struggling with aspects of their mental health post pandemic. Designed for young people aged from 7 to17+,
  • RISE – This project followed on from the successes of Action Towards Inclusion. We are again intervention partners, this was superseded by Rise2Thrive .
  • Small group Programme – through the support of the Allen Lane Foundation we continued our small group programme, holding 3 women’s and 1 men’s groups.
  • Action Towards Inclusion – ATY were delivery partners on this 7-year project. working with keyworkers across the partnership to help remove barriers to inclusion by addressing some of the underlying difficulties accessing social inclusion and employment in the York, North Yorkshire and East Riding LEP area.
  • Arttalking again – The Big Lottery funded Women’s group. Arttalking to men – The Big Lottery funded Men’s group.
  • Creative Connections – in conjunction with ‘A Space To Be’ Scarborough Art Gallery. Funded by the Scarborough Borough Council Locality Grant.
  • The Big Lottery, Sirius Mineral Foundation and the NYCC suicide prevention fund – Individual 1-1 art psychotherapy.
  • Veterans Arttalking – Our weekly online veterans art therapy group funded by The Armed Forces covenant Fund Trust .
  • Mum’sArttalking –funded by the D’Oyly Carte Charitable Trust. Supporting local new mums feeling isolated due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
  • Keyworkers Group – We provided two, online weekly art therapy groups for keyworkers, who continued to support their vulnerable clients through the pandemic.
  • Women at Palm Cove – two, weekly online art therapy group with women in refuge.
  • Arttalking women’s group – The Big Lottery Awards for All.This became 1-1 online work during the pandemic.
  • Firstlight with Stronger Communities – A 12 week art therapy veterans group.
  • ArtTalking Young Persons Group – funded by a grant from the Community First Whitby and Scarborough Fund through the  Two Ridings Foundation.
  • Art of Gold – An established therapeutic art group for supported adults with learning disabilities.
  • Men’s Group – Funded by DWF Foundation,our supportive men’s group.
  • Scarborough WI – An experiential and Q&A session at their March meeting 2020.
  • High Sheriffs Dragons Den, Two Ridings – Our initial Men’s group.
  • #iwillbecreative – Created specifically for young adults supported by Safe and Sound Homes.
  • WCJ Group – A  group  specifically for women moving out of the Criminal Justice Service.
  • Region 11 BAAT meeting – ATY were proud to host and deliver on this unique professional development day for fellow Art Therapists.
  • Glaisdale WI – ATY were proud to deliver an experiential talk with Q&A  to the Daleswomen.
  • ATY delivered activities to all year groups at a North Yorkshire primary school, focusing on relaxation, concentration, and wellbeing.
  • ArtTalking Women’s group2 –ESF CG4 funding provided art therapy to women over 18 who were not in work.
  • Arts for Change – Art Therapy for those affected through their work in a uniformed/caring roles.
  • Monday is Art Day – An established therapeutic art group for supported adults with learning disabilities.
  • Arttalking2 – Our art therapy group with a focus on those experiencing social isolation.
  • ArtTalkingPlus part of NYCC Innovation fund
  • Guest speaking engagements at CU Scarborough for Level 3 and Level 4 counselling students.
  • Scarborough Hospital – Exhibition in the Southlink Corridor.
  • Coventry University (Scarborough) – delivery and experiential workshop to level 4 counselling students.
  • Scarborough 6th Form College – delivery and experiential workshop to Arts and Health & Social Care students.

  • Paint a Picture, St Catherine’s Hospice Scarborough
  • ArtWorking an ESF – Art Therapy intervention designed around unemployment and social issues.
  • Studio group in conjunction with Westway Open Arms ‘Your Choice-Your Vote’ 2014
