Thank you to all of those who supported our work this weekend, through conversations, creating art or donations. We enjoyed making art with everyone who stopped by to take part, even the rain didn’t stop us!
It was our first time being part of the festival in this way so thank you for the warm welcome and a great weekend
Sue and team are really looking forward to pitching up at the orchard in Fangfoss and taking part in the 25th Fangfest celbration of practical arts. We will be holding exciting and colourful print making workshops for adults and children alike across the weekend.
We all wish to thank Peter from Elvington for inviting us to collect his late wifes art materials. it was a delight to meet you Peter and hear about your wifes amazing art talents. All the resources will be used to further our work in the community– here is just a small selection!
Based in the gorgeous Ediths Place at Woodend and within the grounds our Womens Eco group is just starting its 2nd block of planned 6. this is a closed group, not a drop in but please contact us for further information – some steps involved so some mobility required.
We were delighted and just a little surprised to receive a positive response to our bid to the Leathersellers Foundation – this is not a simple process and the window of opportunity is only open for a very short while! Bravo for our success! The Foundation has given us £5000 towards our core funds enabling us to continue to offer a service free of charge.
We would like to say a heartfelt thank you to Bob and Easy Street for choosing us as their charity this month. They will be performing at Scarborough Cricket Club on 21st May at 7:30pm, with £5 entry on the door, and all profits going towards supporting our work. It was great to meet you today, Bob!
Books are available for a suggested donation of £1–£5, with all proceeds going to charity.
Sue and Georgia enjoyed attending the CU Scarborough BIG Careers Fair! It was great to share some information on what we do here at ATY and meet so many students who are interested in the profession.
Differing slightly from our usual work, we were surprised and happy to be invited to contribute to St Marks C of E Newbys’ Christmas Tree festival.
Clients and Therapists all contributed in some way to the unique – possibly idiosyncratic decorations. Every decoration was made by bits and bobs scraps and remnants in the studio, reminding us it is not about money but about the value found in relationships, and at times in the bits cast aside. We were pleased to find ourselves sited between Faith in Scarborough Schools, ( FISS) and Westway Open Arms, both organisations we have links with. Thanks Carol H for organising this event.
Our group of artists at the rainbow group – men and women who have all experienced at times homelessness, violence or substance misuse but are working hard to maintain their new recovery status are PROUD to invite you all to pop in to gallery 6 , 6 Victoria Rd Scarborough to view their work. There is a gathering on Tuesday night Dec 2 from 6 to 8 to preview the exhibition. All Welcome.
