Big thanks to Funders

We were delighted and just a little surprised to receive a positive response to our bid to the Leathersellers  Foundation – this is not a simple process and the window of opportunity is only open for a very short while! Bravo for our success! The Foundation has given us £5000 towards our core funds enabling us to continue to offer a service free of charge.

This fundraising will directly give vital therapeutic interventions, through our service, for those struggling with life issues and poor mental health.

Garfield Weston Thank-you

We are truly thrilled to be able to acknowledge the receipt of grant from the Garfield Weston Foundation.This amount, which will substantially cover our core costs for one year will make a huge difference to our ability to serve our community better in 2018/19 year. Updates as to the usage of this fund will come next year! So happy!

Active Communities Success

We are delighted to be able to publicise our brand new group Arttalking2, which has been funded through the Peoples Health Trust and The Health Lottery.

ATY is currently recruiting to this group, which  is designed to be specifically for those residents of our immediate area, as outlined in green on the map.  Anyone wishing further information is encouraged to contact us through  our contact page. This is long term work, funded for two years, and something we will be very keen to share with you as it develops.

Matchfunding through Local giving!

We have exciting news! Localgiving has just launched another North Yorkshire Match Fund and we’re is taking part! The initiative doubles online donations made to us through our Localgiving page by up to £50. There’s £500 available for us to claim, but to benefit we need your help.
Donate £50 through our Localgiving page and claim Gift Aid now, and we’ll receive a huge £108.58!

Your generous donation will enable us to offer vital art therapy interventions for vulnerable individuals at an affordable rate, possibly free of charge.
Donations are being matched by up to £50, but any amount will really make a huge difference to support the work we do. Please note that we will only receive match funding on the first donation per person through this campaign
The match fund ends either on the 28th May at 4pm OR when the £15,000 fund runs out. To help us claim our share of the fund, please consider making a donation through our Localgiving page before the campaign ends.

Award for All success

Fantastic news, We are now able to share with you the announcement made in the Big Lottery Fund press release on the 25th March.

Art Therapy Yorkshire, with the project entitled ‘Scarborough – Seen through Art’  – has been awarded new funding.  This is what The Big Lottery  say…
“This is a project by a community organisation in Scarborough. The group will use funding to deliver a series of art therapy group sessions, for Polish immigrants, adults with learning disabilities and women who have suffered trauma. This will provide beneficiaries with positive activities, with the aim of building confidence and reducing social isolation”.    Thank you Big Lottery, and thanks again to Boshier-Hinton who  are co-funding this work.

Awards For All

We are really thrilled to announce the success of our recent application to Awards for All, the small grants part of the Big Lottery. once finalised, this grant will fund some innovative and exciting work.  We plan to hold a community arts project for the Polish residents in Scarborough, we also plan to repeat the success of our 20 week group for supported adults; both of these will culminate in an exhibition.

Importantly, the sum received will enable  us to continue our much needed work with those affected by trauma. If you are in, or know anyone who  may benefit from these free of charge groups, please get in touch via our contact page

Exciting Development

ATY has been successful in their bid to the European Social Fund through Your Consortium. This project  involves art therapy groups aimed at unemployed adults and will be launched in the New year. Local Agencies will be invited to refer into this project. There will be much more news to follow about this innovative approach.
