This is your chance to get in touch… regarding this or our other programmes!

Thanks to a grant from the Big Lottery Community Fund we are able to offer fully funded places to those who may self-refer, or via another agency. If lockdown and Covid 19 issues has affected you adversely and wish to work through these things with an experienced mental health practitioner using art psychotherapy please get in touch, simply   make an appointment to discuss the options with us.

We will be happy to explain art therapy to you and answer any questions around our practice. As always we have a simple  assessment process and if appropriate we will offer you a minimum 10 week art therapy programme  free of charge. Donations are always welcome!

Women’s group for 2019

Our Awards For All funded women’s group is reformed, we now have two groups running concurrently, Holly in the project rooms and Sue in the Street studio. We also have a some capacity for 1-1 assessment sessions to aid your introduction to the group. 12.30 to 2.30 Fridays . Contact us for more information.

new Women’s group – Act Now!

We have heard this week that we may extend the work of our European Social Fund work. We have decided to use this opportunity to launch a quick, short, women’s group starting next week. Quick, as if you are interested you do need to contact us soon, and short as it must be completed at the end of May. however this is a great, free opportunity for someone who would like a taster in an art therapy group, Our fully equipped studio and fully trained dedicated staff will be guiding this group. The group is open to women over 18 not currently in employment and resident in North Yorkshire. Contact us for more information and to arrange an interview.

Opportunity for sessional work

ArttherapyYorkshire is a registered charity committed to delivering professional Art Psychotherapy to adults and children from our studio base in Scarborough, or our mobile studio service across the area. As a registered charity our aim is to provide our services free, or at an affordable rate to allow access to therapeutic support to those who would not otherwise be able to afford it.    Thanks to increasing interest in our services we are looking for qualified art psychotherapists to work alongside our dedicated team of self-employed professional practitioners delivering sessional Art Psychotherapy to both individuals and groups, as and when therapeutic programmes are established.  Applicants must be registered with BAAT (British Association of Art Therapists) & HCPC (Health and Care Professions Council), be self employed, and willing to work within ArttherapyYorkshire’s code of practice, and safeguarding policies. All ArttherapyYorkshire practitioners are self employed and work to BAAT
recommended rates for sessional work.

Arttalking2 start today – 2 year project

Thanks you Scarborough News, for the great photo. Our latest community based art therapy project begins today. Funded by the Peoples Health Trust, Arttalking2 is designed to meet the needs of our local community in central Scarborough and will run for two years initially. We start today, but prospective members may contact us and join any time.

ArtTalking2 Community based Art Therapy group

We are currently inviting members of our local community to join us in our brilliant new project. ArtTalkingcombines a studio art therapy group with a community art space. Arttalking2 is specially designed to encourage strong links  between both individual members within the group and with the wider community. We are able to offer FREE OF CHARGE a safe working space,well equipped and fully supported by our qualified art therapists. The project is long term, starting on the 15th. October and running in 10 week blocks for two years.  Thank you, Peoples Health Trust, now Scarborough, lets make this happen!

Active Communities Success

We are delighted to be able to publicise our brand new group Arttalking2, which has been funded through the Peoples Health Trust and The Health Lottery.

ATY is currently recruiting to this group, which  is designed to be specifically for those residents of our immediate area, as outlined in green on the map.  Anyone wishing further information is encouraged to contact us through  our contact page. This is long term work, funded for two years, and something we will be very keen to share with you as it develops.

Summer Art Club opportunities

We are inviting members of the Polish Community here in the Scarborough area to join us in this innovative, exciting new opportunity.

Every Tuesday afternoon and alternate Saturdays we are hosting a free family art group. This is especially created for our Polish Community, mums, dads grandparents children, all are welcome at The Street. Please arrive by 12.30, you do not need to bring anything, only your enthusiasm, as all art materials are provided.

Women’s Group starting

The second of our groups funded through the Big Lottery – Awards for All grant, will be starting this Tuesday 9th June.

Sue and Angela are looking forward to starting the group and meeting all the group members together for the first time.
