ATY and The ARTS in York Hospital are thrilled to present a new exhibition created by individuals engaging with the services of ATY. Many thanks to the work of the facilities team while we organised!
This is fantastic news for us and a chance for individuals to access much needed Art Psychotherapy locally. ATY can now announce our successful inclusion in the 2017 NYCC Innovation Fund. Working in both Scarborough and Rydale areas we will offer early intervention and prevention work Free of Charge to North Yorkshire residents, ages over 18 with non complex mental health issues.
If in doubt… just ask! This will include individual and group work. Clients may be referred through the local mental health services or self refer.
ArttherapyYorkshire is a registered charity committed to delivering professional Art Psychotherapy to adults and children from our studio base in Scarborough, or our mobile studio service across the area. As a registered charity our aim is to provide our services free, or at an affordable rate to allow access to therapeutic support to those who would not otherwise be able to afford it. Thanks to increasing interest in our services we are looking for qualified art psychotherapists to work alongside our dedicated team of self-employed professional practitioners delivering sessional Art Psychotherapy to both individuals and groups, as and when therapeutic programmes are established. Applicants must be registered with BAAT (British Association of Art Therapists) & HCPC (Health and Care Professions Council), be self employed, and willing to work within ArttherapyYorkshire’s code of practice, and safeguarding policies. All ArttherapyYorkshire practitioners are self employed and work to BAAT
recommended rates for sessional work.

We are delighted to be able to announce that ATY are a specialist intervention support partner in the Action towards Inclusion Project. This three year project is funded by the Big Lottery Fund and the European Social Fund and is managed by Your Consortium based in Knaresborough.
This project is one of the largest funding streams secured for a voluntary and community sector partnership in the area. It represents an exciting opportunity for local charities and voluntary organisations within the partnership to demonstrate their effectiveness in supporting those most distant from work, training and volunteering – offering flexible support to help adults overcome physical, psychological, financial and skills-related barriers and progress towards employment, training, education and job-search, whilst at the same time helping to combat a range of social issues including poverty and social exclusion. Much more news to come in 2017.
ATY Womens group combined fundraising and social activities by holding a tabletop sale at DAG’s Christmas Fair at Wrayfield Drive Church hall last Saturday. Thanks to all those who supported us, through donating, staffing the stall and fetching cups of tea. a big HEART felt thanks
ATY is thrilled to announce the recent success of its application to the Charity Commission for Charitable Status.This is a hugely significant move and will strengthen our ability to offer a service to the area.We will be in a stronger position to recruit trustees and members, as well as to improve access funding for our work. Here’s to lots more of this!
We are delighted to announce we have secured additional project room space just a few steps away from our base here at The Street. Here we can work uninterrupted when ever we wish, giving us now effectively 3 Art therapy spaces. Thanks to the Yorkshire Coast Enterprise Centre.
Art Talking 2 is our popular and exciting group, recruiting from the locality around The Street here in Scarborough. Do you live around The Castle ward, In Town, Falsgrave; anywhere east of Columbus Ravine and north of Valley Road, this is for you, this is free!. The Peoples Health Trust have funded our weekly Art Therapy group which focuses on community and inclusion. This is some of us at the Yorkshire Sculpture Park, reflected in a fabulous sculpture.
We have just had a short summer break, here at Art Therapy Yorkshire, but we are keen to recruit more members to our groups.
