Art of Gold Mondays

We are thrilled to be able to introduce our new look Monday group. This is running on from our Monday art group for Adults with Learning Difficulties and is funded through the SANTANDER Discovery Grant . This support means this group can continue to meet now for at least another year. Special thanks to Edward for his contribution to the beautiful poster, and to the group for coming up with the name.

SPRING FAIR

Sunday 6th May.  Our local fundraising event in aid of the Dean Rd Chapel Restoration Project . Please support this great work in the beautiful cemetery at the heart of Scarborough, AND help us to fundraise for our work. ATY will be holding a stall here , contributing to the fun!

new Women’s group – Act Now!

We have heard this week that we may extend the work of our European Social Fund work. We have decided to use this opportunity to launch a quick, short, women’s group starting next week. Quick, as if you are interested you do need to contact us soon, and short as it must be completed at the end of May. however this is a great, free opportunity for someone who would like a taster in an art therapy group, Our fully equipped studio and fully trained dedicated staff will be guiding this group. The group is open to women over 18 not currently in employment and resident in North Yorkshire. Contact us for more information and to arrange an interview.

Thanks to Yorkshire Coast Homes

Yorkshire Coast Homes Community Investment panel has kindly agreed to fund the workshops offered to our Syrian resettlement families. We have been able to host three workshops so far, with the help of small grants from Ebenezer Baptist Church and Hackness Ladies Choir. What fantastic community teamwork!

projects ending

Sadly two important projects have come to an end recently, as the period of funding has run its course.

Our PHT Arttalking2 was always a 2 yrs project and was fantastically successful meeting all it’s outcomes and more – hopefully this will be the basis of a new ‘Arttalking’ group in the near future. So many thanks to our core steering group and all the work they have put in.

We also have to end our NYCC innovation fund project which enabled us to reach and support 30 individuals locally. Many thanks go out to NYCC for this support.

action towards inclusion partner

We are working with a raft of partner organisations locally to deliver art therapy as part of the action towards inclusion initiative. Funded by the Big Lottery and the European Social Fund action towards inclusion  is a project promoting social inclusion and engagement in the York North Yorks. and East Riding areas. Over 18, not in work and living in the area? Contact us for further information on this 3 year fully funded project offering multiple interventions tailored to your specific needs with your own assigned keyworker.

New Women’s group

Please contact us regarding referring/joining our newly funded Women’s Art Therapy group. Funded by the European Social Fund, it is designed for women who have suffered the effects of trauma in their lives and are currently not in work.  We meet every Friday afternoon 1-3.30 and are a friendly cheerful supportive group. Do get in touch for any further information as usual, by phone or our website contact page.

ArttalkingPlus update

Our NYCC Innovation Fund project – ArttalkingPlus is proving a great success. The combination of  an initial block of 1-1 art therapy leading into a discreet, art therapy closed group is working well particularly with  those who experience social anxiety and dread group-work. Thank you NYCC for funding this work and to those who have referred into the programme. Spaces are still available!! Contact us phone 07888998962 – or through our website.

Thank You Ebenezer

A big thank you to the members of Ebenezer Baptist Church here in Scarborough for granting us a small but very important amount. This will help us offer much needed support to children of our newest community, alongside the work of the refugee council.

Gift from Hackness ladies Choir

What a lovely suprise. Hackness ladies Choir have sent us a donation of £200. We have decided to use this as the seed funding for a special project we have in mind for a new sector locally… more on this as it develops.  Meanwhile a big thank you to the  fabulous members and committee of Hackness ladies Choir.
