We have just had a short summer break, here at Art Therapy Yorkshire, but we are keen to recruit more members to our groups.

On Tuesday 3 May I was delighted to join a large group at Scarborough Town Hall and to be presented with a cheque for £100 by our Lady Mayoress Ros Fox. This will go towards our core costs and is very welcome.

Our Peoples Health Trust funded art therapy group ArtTalking 2 recommences today. We have been busy distributing this flyer in the area, and invite any interested in the Scarborough area to get in touch. The programme for Spring Summer will be varied and exciting! Flyer and eligibility map below. 
We shall start hanging this exhibition this coming weekend It is such a wonderful space we hope to do it justice. We will be open for visitors from 10am to 4pm Friday Saturday and Sunday and look forward to meeting you!
We are very pleased, tinged with a little pre-show nerves, to be able to share with you our involvement in Coastival 2016. Coastival is Scarborough’s fantastic arts and performance festival which hosts 100 events across 3 days & nights and many venues. We will be staging a large exhibition of artworks, 2D & 3D and film, alongside hands-on artmaking space and a breakout space (otherwise known as a sitting room) . This will all be held in 2 bays of the fabulous art space at Scarborough Railway Station, the Old Parcels Office. Coastival -12th 13th &14th Feb 2016.
If you you feel like you need some thing this New Year to explore your own creativity in a supportive environment using a variety of different media, ArtTalking 2 is free and available now. ATY has been awarded £2000 through Arts for Change – part of the York based 2 Ridings charity – to help us to offer a few individuals Art Therapy in the New Year. More information on this in 2016! Thanks go to the Scarborough news for picking this up.
We are very grateful to the Peoples Health Trust, the body who fund our Arttalking2 project. The PHT have agreed to extending the fundable area for this project which now extends to a greater area of Scarborough, to Castle and more of Town and Valley Road. We will be accepting new members onto this great long term project in the new year, so do get in touch.
