Peter and I had a great day at The Spa Scarborough helping Yorkshire Coast Homes entertain and inform our local community. Many young people joined in our drawing activities on a seasonal theme. Congratulations to Jack and Joshua who won a box of chocolates each.
Thanks you Scarborough News, for the great photo. Our latest community based art therapy project begins today. Funded by the Peoples Health Trust, Arttalking2 is designed to meet the needs of our local community in central Scarborough and will run for two years initially. We start today, but prospective members may contact us and join any time.
We are currently inviting members of our local community to join us in our brilliant new project. ArtTalking2 combines a studio art therapy group with a community art space. Arttalking2 is specially designed to encourage strong links between both individual members within the group and with the wider community. We are able to offer FREE OF CHARGE a safe working space,well equipped and fully supported by our qualified art therapists. The project is long term, starting on the 15th. October and running in 10 week blocks for two years. Thank you, Peoples Health Trust, now Scarborough, lets make this happen!
We are inviting members of the Polish Community here in the Scarborough area to join us in this innovative, exciting new opportunity.
Every Tuesday afternoon and alternate Saturdays we are hosting a free family art group. This is especially created for our Polish Community, mums, dads grandparents children, all are welcome at The Street. Please arrive by 12.30, you do not need to bring anything, only your enthusiasm, as all art materials are provided.
Sue was delighted to lead a ‘ice breaking’ Art Therapy group workshop last weekend at the leadership residential event hosted by RedKite Innovations, as part of the GameChanger programme. This was well received with all the participants entering into the spirit, and discovering something unique about their own personal styles and aspirations.
Congratulations to Laura Young from Yorkshire Coast Homes. Laura won our prize draw at our open event and has received her copy of Matisse cut-outs.
The event was well attended, we enjoyed a beautiful spread from Becci at the Filling Station, and were pleased to be able to show our studio to our guests.

Through our Awards for All grant from The Big Lottery, we are able to announce our third fully funded group.
We are now inviting members of the local Polish community, to join us for a summer holidays art club here at The Street. This will be held on Tuesday afternoons and some Saturdays, 10 sessions in all. 12.30 to 3. We are recruiting now so do contact us. Children must be accompanied by an adult … adults accompanied by children!

Sue and Peter want to invite anyone interested in Art Therapy, particularly anyone who may wonder if we may be able to be of benefit to their work or personal life, to come to meet them on 18th June, between 10 and 3.30. Our therapists and trustees will be available to talk to you over a cup of tea or coffee.
We have asked The Filling Station, a new cafe at The Street, to provide the catering and we do want a good turn out. At the very least get a cup of coffee at the most come away with a new solution to tricky problem. Invite a friend!
We are inviting referrals from women living with the affects of trauma, to contact us with a view to joining our new Women’s group starting soon, on the 9th June.
Places will be limited, there will be an assessment and you need to make a commitment to the group process.
This fortnightly, 15 session group has been fully funded by the Big Lottery, and forms one part of our ArtTalking programme.
