Art Therapy Yorkshire is now happily working from our two spaces at Woodend and are particularly looking forward to incorporating the beautiful outdoor spaces into our work. Smaller spaces but more than compensated for by the beautiful and welcoming environment. So much going on here… come and see for yourself!
After 6 years at The Street we have moved our base to the beautiful Woodend Creative at the Crescent Scarborough. Here we will be able to utilise the shared areas including the gardens and gallery space. Moving 2 studios was fun and games as you may imagine !
We are really thrilled to be able to offer an art therapy group specifically for Men. This has now been running for a few weeks and has a great group of men meeting to address mental health issues through Art Therapy. Many thanks to the Two Ridings Foundation in York who organised the High Sheriffs Dragons Den last year and for the donation which is funding this work.
A big shout out to the team at Scarborough and Ryedale Mountain Rescue who have partnered with us to offer immediate support to any team member adversely affected by their work. Bravo to this initiative!
We are grateful to the customers at our local Tesco stores who voted for us. We have been granted £1000 which will provided much needed art therapy to persons in need of support locally.
We at ATY are truly delighted to announce a new Creativity group in Scarborough. Based at The Street we will be working exclusively with young persons supported through safe and Sound Homes and Foundation Housing to explore artmaking creativity, and a whole lot more, in our studio. Big shout goes out to the #iwill fund and to the Two Ridings Foundation in York for supporting us to make this happen .
We are hugely grateful to our friends in House and Gardens who did a year end tidy up of their resource cupboard and sent us a fabulous selection of textiles, DAS clay, beads and samples . At Art Therapy Yorkshire we love to offer excellent materials to work with, as well as reusing and recycling unwanted art materials. Our clients will very much appreciate the gift Thank you so much .
great news for 2019 – we have been awarded a grant from Awards from All which will enable us to restructure and expand our long running women’s group . Full details will be available in January.
