We ( kinda) enjoyed meeting Katie from That TV North Yorkshire last week to talk about our work and publicise our new challenge fundraising programme. Here’s Sarah and Sue being interviewed!

Sept. saw our volunteer Sarah visit the freshers fair at Scarborough TEC, on our behalf, followed the very next day by the Scarborough 6th Form. Thanks for inviting us, thanks for your work Sarah and have a good year everyone.

In August we were invited to run some art therapy workshops for young carers in York. We spent two days running workshops in the morning and afternoon. This was warmly received and those participating came with creative enthusiasm engaging in the art therapy activities. We had the pleasure of been at Headland Festival again this year. The ATY team was there on the Saturday and Sunday day time, with fun activities for all the families. On offer were map making using quills, kite making, making pixie wings and wands and finishing off the days with quiet drawing and painting. The event was a great success with many attending the festival coming and visiting the ATY Tent.

Receiving the following positive feedback on the days: Anon ‘…would have be rubbish here during the day without you…’ and Anon ‘Staxtonbury doesn’t do anything like this.’

On Saturday 24th and Sunday 25th August, the ATY team will be at Headland Festival, Hulley’s Farm, offering art making and creative activities to all the festival goers. From kite making, quill pen to quiet drawing time. ATY have a time table program of our running events over the two days which will available at the festival and this will be posted on our Facebook page.
The team is looking forward to a weekend of music, food and creativity.

All the artworks in this exhibition have been created by individuals who have engaged with ArttherapyYorkshire’s Art of Gold Monday’s group.
The aim of this exhibition is to offer those involved the opportunity to showcase their creative abilities and willingness to share ideas and different approaches using creativity to develop confidence, self
esteem and general well-being. Art of Gold is an art therapy group of supported individuals with learning difficulties and disabilities.
Art of Gold meet on Monday’s and have for several years. Over the years the group has evolved, though the purpose of the group has remained, to support and develop self esteem, self confidence and to share experiences. Using the art materials, members can explore and share new skills with
the group. Art of Gold would like to share a selection of the artwork produced by the current six group members. These members have given consent for their artwork to be displayed and would like to share
their names with the audience. ArttherapyYorkshire and Art of Gold hope you enjoy this small exhibition.
