Art therapy within the landscape

With permission of the co-creator of this work I would love to share with you the labyrinth we created in the grounds of Woodend Scarborough. This work is partially finished and we will share updates. Its construction of of willow canes, sticks and grass clippings. The making of the labyrinth in this time of isolation and anxiety was a collaborative and balletic dance of social distancing, itself an exercise in considerate sharing of the space. The day was then and is again today beautiful and clear complete with blossom and  birdsong. If you are passing by please feel free to share this experience, walk our labyrinth, it is a meditative space  and if possible add a few handfuls of grass clippings to help us complete it.We will try to keep it going with found, organic materials as long as possible.

Thank you Rotary

On the 10th February  we were delighted to receive a donation from the Rotary Club of Scarborough, monies raised through their Annual Christmas Collection 2019.Thank you so much for this help, it will all go to support our work in delivering  Art Therapy, available to those who self-refer in our community,  free of charge when ever possible. It is only through the support of fundraising organisations such as this that we are able to continue in our ambitious aims as a charity.

Awards for All – Women’s group

The National Lottery Awards For All has awarded us a generous sum in order for us to continue to offer our long running Women’s group.  We regretfully  had to end this work in February, only a week or two before we would have had to close owing to Covid 19 measure.  As with our other work,  opening and recruiting to this group will be our first priority when that is a possibility.  If you would like information on what  we may be able to offer please don’t hesitate to get in touch.

Inspire Fund & Firstlight

We wish to thank the NYCC Stronger Communities team for approving an application to their INSPIRE fund.  Although on hold at present, we shall be working with FIRSTLIGHT our local veterans charity in order to provide a bespoke art therapy group especially designed for their members.  we shall be delighted to update on this new group when we are able to resume delivery.
