Keyworkers group

Thanks to support from THE BIG LOTTERY COMMUNITY FUND we have been able to provide , amongst other things our two, weekly, online . art therapy groups specially designed for keyworkers locally.  Individuals who give tirelessly through their own work and projects, support the vulnerable within our community.

This has given us a space to connect with each other whilst continuing  working in isolation .

Veteran’s Art Talking Gets Started

We’re excited to announce that our Veteran’s Art Talking online art therapy group delivered in collaboration with First Light Trust is starting on Monday the 1st of February.  The group will run until the end of May and has been made possible by the Armed Forces Covenant Trust.

The group will run weekly at 2pm on a Monday and will be making artworks together following the themes of nature, travel, and a third theme to be set by the group.  The artists, all veterans, reservists or serving personnel, will then take part in a final exhibition of their work either in person, online, or by producing a booklet.

The great news is it is not too late to join, as we still have some spaces in the group!  Come and join us in supporting each other to get creative.

If you’d like to find out more or join in, please do get in touch – our number is 01723 384556 or you can e-mail us at admin@arttherapyyorkshire.org.uk.

Support For Self Referrals and Online Art Therapy from Two Ridings

It’s been a tough start to 2021 for us all, but we have good news to share!
Two Ridings Community Foundation have kindly awarded us £5,000 to offer free online art therapy, and when we are able to when coronavirus restrictions are lifted, self referrals for face to face art therapy at our studios at Woodend in Scarborough!
This means we are currently open for self referrals and referrals for Zoom based art therapy with our qualified art therapists. If you’re interested and would like to know more, or would like to self refer when we’re able to see people in person, please get in touch.
Our number is 01723 384556 or you can e-mail us at admin@arttherapyyorkshire.org.uk.
Thank you Two Ridings for your support to deliver our valuable work at this time.

Thank You to the D’oyly Carte Charitable Trust

Wonderful news this week as the D’oyly Carte Charitable Trust have kindly awarded us a one off grant of £3,500 to support the provision of art workshops and art therapy interventions in 2021 for young people adversely affected by isolation & restricted opportunities as a result of the Covid 19 pandemic.

In this unprecidented time, mental health support, creative opportunities and wellbeing support are needed in our communities more than ever.  We are so pleased we are able to continiue providing this work and look forward to bringing you updates on the project next year.  As a result we welcome people to get in touch to access this support for themselves or people they are working with.

We are closely monitoring national COVID19 Government guidelines as well as those set out by our governing bodies the Health and Care Professions Council and the British Association of Art Therapists.  We are using risk assessments, COVID19 specific hygiene routines and social distancing, as well as providing a flexible approach to art therapy to continue to be as inclusive and accessible as possible.  Please get in touch to find out how we may be able to support you.

So very helpful

We have been awarded  the Scarborough Borough Council Discretionary Grant  which will be  hugely beneficial to our service, allowing us to dedicate more of our resources to supporting people at need of our  mental health  therapy locally.

Alongside that we are pleased to have been also supported  by Woodend Creative with a rent reduction for a set period.   This support both from  Government Initiatives and private organisations is vital and hugely encouraging.A big  THANK YOU  to Alan and Andrew .

Our thanks to the TWO RIDINGS

We have been supported by the Two Ridings Community Fund ‘Coronavirus Community Fund Phase 1’ .

This will be invaluable to us to help maintain some distanced service during this crisis.
